Method 1: Disable the Antivirus

While Antivirus software is great and they help you keep your system safe and secure, sometimes it might be the cause of such errors.

The first thing that you should do is disable the third-party antivirus program if you have installed any and see if that solves the issue.

Also, the method to disable the Antivirus varies from software to software, but worry, not a simple Google search would be able to help you disable whatever Antivirus you are using.

Once disabled, click on retry in windows update and check if the issue has been fixed or not.

Before going into any complicated steps, running the Windows update troubleshooter would be a good idea.

Sometimes third-party software running in the background or corrupted software could be the one causing the error. To fix this, we can simply perform a Windows reset.

The best part of Windows reset is that it replaces your Windows with a new version without deleting your files. But yes, it will delete all the software you have on your machine.

So I would really recommend you to take a backup of all your important files and software before performing it.

Once read, follow the below steps:

Step 1: Click on the Start menu and launch Settings from there.
